I got hit up to (potentially) do an animated segment for their new video, but that was months ago. Jesus, like six or seven months ago. Needless to say, I wound up not doing it and I think this is what they ended up doing. They DID announce on Facebook they were looking for people to be in a crowd scene for a new video, so maybe this was a filler video.

I fucked up a Streetlight fan at the DVD filming show, whenever that was. Dude kept crowdsurfing and kicking people in the head as he landed, the people below me asked me to do something and I jokingly asked them if they wanted me to hit him in the nuts. They said yes. So the guy came around, I warned him of the nutshot if he did it again. He laughed. He came back around again, climbed up on the railing, turned around, kicked off and I blasted him as hard as I could in the nuts with a fist. The people below me knew it was coming, so they parted and the dude fell right on his back. I love Streetlight, but fuck their fucking fans.

Speaking of both Save Ferris and Lone Raspberry: I got kicked in the head by LR’s trombone player, who was in FOE at the time, while watching Monique Powell sing SHaGFN with Reel Big Fish at Ska Summit in ’03. Pretty fucking good day.

Judging by the state of the board, the apocalypse hit a few years ago.

Voicemail recordings. They were going to make them available for purchase on their site like five years ago. Aaron and Scott recorded ones by themselves and one together. It was pretty much them saying “Hey it’s _____ from Reel Big Fish! Leave a message for the cool dude you were trying to reach at the beep!” Pretty unremarkable, but superfans would’ve bought them… Probably.

At one point I had every RBF track ever, and I’ve never heard a longer version than the 30 second one. I could have missed it, but if it exists, it’s in the rarities thread. I mean, I’ve heard never released voicemail recordings the band was going to sell to the public… So I don’t think this exists. Also, I don’t know why they’d release a full version of a jingle they probably didn’t give a shit about.
