MemberWhen RBF toured with Pilfers earlier this year, they had their trombonist sub in sometimes, and they had the trombonist from Big D and the Kids Table sub in for a few Warped Tour dates this past summer. Not sure if they’d have either of those guys back, since they’d either have to pull double duty or leave the other band entirely.

MemberIt makes me sad to see these kinds of reviews. Honestly, I understand how people can be getting sick of the same old RBF sound (even though I obviously don’t feel that way at all) but to say that it’s of such significantly lower quality than their past releases and to give it one star is ridiculous. It’s definitely an album of relatively consistent quality with their past work, and even though I don’t know yet where I’d rank it with the other albums, I definitely at least like it better than WDTRSH and Monkeys (and I love WDTRSH and Monkeys). I may or may not be a “blind fanboy”, but Punisher, P.S. I Hate You, and IDYTBMH, at least, are honestly up there for me with the best songs RBF has ever done.
He’s right about Hiding in My Headphones, though. It’s the only song I skip when listening through CCF, but the rest of them are solid.

MemberThe “I know I’ve to to get over you” song right before IKYTWTLYA? That’s I Love/You Suck.

Memberjohn: *EDIT- Alex, are you talking about the Charlotte show or the FL show? The set lists are identical, I was at the Charlotte show, so thought you were talking about that.
If you were at the FL show, you don\’t know what the \”Braveheart Charge\” is…as Goldfingers last show was in Charlotte.
I am talking about the FL show, maybe that wasn’t clear. I’m glad they had the same setlist though, based on what they’ve played this tour I love the song selection they decided on for my show.
And nice work on Ryland’s drumstick. I almost caught his second one, but the guy in front of me ended up with it. The stuff I got signed before the show was more than enough to compensate, though.

MemberI’m back, and the concert was awesome as usual. Here’s what I can remember in a jumbled order. It was the standard setlist (they played every song that you’d expect them to always play) with a few little goodies thrown in.
The Kids Don’t Like It/In The Pit
Another F.U. Song
I Want Your Girlfriend to Be My Girlfriend
Snoop Dogg, Baby
Everything Sucks
Good Thing
Trendy
Don’t Stop Skankin’
Enter Sandman (watching Dan “forget” the lyrics is much funnier when watching it live)
The Set Up
Brown Eyed Girl
Where Have You Been
The Fire (sounded great with the saxophone, they should start playing this live more often)
Your Guts
Punisher (I was “that guy” as the only one who knew all the words, but it was fantastic)
Ban the Tube Top
S.R.
Beer
Sell Out
She Has A Girlfriend Now
Take On MeOverall, this band never gets old, and I’m glad I had time to learn the new songs before hearing them live. Awesome concert.

MemberWaiting for the Fort Lauderdale concert to start now. I got to meet Aaron and Ryland at the 4th of july meet n greet, and I met both Brians from Suburban Legends as well. I got the live album signed as well as Suburban Legends’ new album. Aaron said they were planning on playing Punisher, so here’s hoping.
The Maxies are playing first, so at least I get that out of the way quickly.

Member“We thought you’d get over her, but no such luck…. your girlfriend sucks.”
Definitely one of my favorite songs on the album, it really grew on me after listening to it a few times. I love Matt’s (or is it Brian Klemm? he is on this track apparently) harmonies during the verses.

MemberHave you been to any concerts of this sort before? If not, be prepared to be pushed around and kicked in the head A LOT. It’s really easy to get annoyed with that fast, but it’s totally worth it to be right there in front of the band.
In terms of actually getting to the front, it’s easiest to slip your way to the front in the downtime between the previous band and RBF. It’s ideal to make it to the railing, so you can hold onto it and secure your spot a little more, but it’s key to hold your ground. It’s definitely worth the trouble.
Have fun! Report back with setlist/fun experiences and whatnot.
And yeah, it’s awesome to meet the band if you can. They’ve come to expect fans flocking to them after shows and they’re really nice about it.

MemberI really, really like this album. Upbeat, catchy, and certainly worthy of the RBF name. Not sure where I’d rank it in with the rest of the albums, but it’s definitely on par with the majority of them. Like Sonic Libido, I prefer to cherish the album we got instead of wish for the album we don’t have. The whole band is very tight musically, and even though the production isn’t perfect, it still really works for me.
My favorite track is probably Punisher, with the very close runner-ups being P.S. I Hate You, Everyone Else is an Asshole, and I Dare You to Break My Heart.
Also, Don’t Stop Skankin’ is great and reminds me of a 1920’s jazz-type feel. I really hope I get to hear it live.

MemberGood interview with Ryland and Dan in Buffalo a few days ago.
Interesting tidbit: they actually have played IKYTWTLYA live, or at least at sound check, and Matt sings the girl part. That’s hardly a surprise, but that’d be funny to see live.

MemberOh, wow. I’m buying it no matter what but I hope it finds its way online early. Either way, I’m seeing them on Wednesday so I’ll buy it if they have it then.

MemberI’m glad Hiding in my Headphones is one they’ll probably never play live. It’s not terrible, but it’s just…. ehhhhh.
IDYTBMH sounds great, though.
