MemberA post a few rows down says that Scott visited “for a few”, so I’m guessing he played at least as much as Tyler did. I will be extremely upset if no one got this on video.

MemberAh yes. Scott did come to see the show. And that is me. I am Connor Cashman.
Scott came in after they played Sell Out as their encore. The first played Enter Sandman, and then ended with Take On Me.Also Aaron played with Goldfinger too. Which was pretty fucking rad.By the way, SORRY FOR NOT CHECKING IN ON YOU GUYS! I’ve been super busy with school. -

MemberNeat. I hope someone there managed to film Scott and Don’t Stop Skankin’.
I’ve also seen elsewhere that they didn’t play S.R. or Punisher this time around. I wouldn’t miss S.R., but I’ve grown to love Punisher so I hope they play it when I see them. Either way, it looks like a short set, was Goldfinger the headliner last night?

MemberThey didn’t play S.R. and She has a Girlfriend now.
Which was okay for me. -

MemberYeah, I am aware of that. I saw Scott perform on the last tour when he was with the Aquabats back in 2010.
Also, Coolie Ranx was there too. He sang the Sky Dive part. -

jrock241MemberI wish they had him back, with the extra horn player. – I was going to say this same thing in the thread that had Tyler playing on a few songs also. RBF needs one more person. Whether it’s Scott, Tyler, or somebody else, they need somebody with character. Aaron can’t have conversations with himself on stage, as much as he’d like to.

MemberDan has been doing a great job being the one on stage having character too.

The WindMemberNo, he hasn’t. He’s been doing a job, which is to be someone for Aaron to talk at, instead of someone for Aaron to converse with.

SamuMemberDoes anybody know what Scott’s doing now? I used to be friends on facebook through my ex-gf account, so I lost him and it’s kinda awkward to show up from nowhere and ask friendship and blablabla.

ReelBigCohenMemberTo me it seems like he is a stay at home dad. His facebook doesn’t really show much that often. He might have a partime somehwere lol maybe a coffee shop hehe but I basically think he stays at home or collaborates writing/producing/recording music. Just my guesses

SamuMemberI wonder if his project of turning his NY-based songs in a musical has completely gone down the drain, or just waiting to see the light.

SamuMemberScott will be the opening act for SL/RBF next week in Brooklyn.
(source: his facebook, but I can’t find the link anymore)
Super super cool that he’s back to performing live. He’s got too much talent to be wasted like that. -

MemberI’m very happy to say I’m going to the show on Monday. I’ll try to take some videos of Scott on my phone. If the sound’s good, I’ll even try to get whichever song(s?) he sings with Reel Big Fish.

SamuMemberGreat!
I bet on take on me and perhaps she has a girlfriend now (after all, it’s one of the few RBF songs credited entirely to him)

SamuMember“Thanks to everyone who made it out last night. And deepest thanks to Reel Big Fish for diligently providing and evening of enjoyment for all. Much Love and Respect.”
(from Scott’s tumblr)
I sense a kind of sarcasm here I’m not sure I fully get.

MemberIt’s not sarcasm. He had a great opening set and the crowd was very welcoming (which he seemed not to expect, but a lot of people were there because they were excited to see him!) Scott’s set was: Welcome to New York, Hands Out Holds Down, The Hilarious, Stayed Away too Long, a new song (which I forgot the name of, but which I’ll call Teach Me to Smile), and Drunk Again.
He sang the whole encore with Reel Big Fish: Trendy, I Want Your Girlfriend, an impromptu performance of Join the Club (Aaron said Billy had never played the song live, and Scott said he was surprised he could remember it), and Take On Me.
They ate the crowd up. Aaron gave a very sincere “We’ve really had a good time here tonight, you guys have been awesome” at the end, and Scott was taken aback by the whole crowd singing the Drunk Again chorus, actually throwing out a “sing it!” the second time around. He seemed really humbled by how much the crowd loved him.

jrock241MemberI talked to a few of the guys last night and they said that Scott is trying to get a full band together but it’s difficult because he has a full time job, two kids, and New York isn’t the best place to find other musicians that want to work for free unless they are younger but they aren’t as good usually. Hopefully things will fall into place for him. His music needs to be heard.
A little off topic – Ryland’s side project is very good. The song he released with a video isn’t even the best song on the album. Seriously, if you’re at a RBF show purchase the blue album labelled “This Magnificent”. It’s not ska, but it has a great summer feel to it. Mikey Hachey recorded the bass for it.
