Desensitized — nice avatar! I love the Smoking Popes. I'm not too far from them (live in Northern Illinois) and have seen them several times locally. Great band!
Another Chicago land band that doesn't get a lot of due that I think is outstanding is Local H. They're of mid-90s fame with "Bound For The Floor", but have released several solid albums and are much more catchy than your average heavy sound alternative / grunge band.
