MemberLyinAss Bitch: Yeah, I think you guys should no longer be fans. Make a shrine, have a memorial, bury your records, light a candle, make a wish, say a prayer, tweet your anger, complain on Facebook and go about your lives. The Fish will do what they do, with or without you. For every fan that leaves, a few thousand more come along and they get bigger and bigger as the years go by.
Everyone bitched and complained when Matt left too. Everybody swore how they were no longer going to be fans and punish a band that had no say-so in a member deciding to start a family. I’ve heard RBF with and without Scott, I could hardly tell the difference. The only thing that was missing was the narcissistic jokes. I’m not a hater. Scott does have a wonderful talent, but it’s not ending my appreciation for a great ska band, if it’s true that he’s leaving. I’m sure if he’s leaving, it’s with good reason, and it’s to be a respected decision.
Check it out, I have! Nice seeing you all, but I’m pretty far from where RBF is now and pretty much a lot better off than when I was posting around here. Not to insult whoever Aaron has in the band now, but membership issues aside I no longer really relate with anything in regards to the band’s lyrical direction, and their sound has been getting more and more stale since Cheer Up. So basically, I’d just like to say that- fans have totally moved on! And it’s a good thing!
So hey guys, you probably won’t see me around anymore (I don’t even use this screen-name anywhere anymore because it’s totally unlike me now), but I just wanted to give you all a quick message.
One thing I’d just like to add, Reel Big Fish is not getting bigger every year or their records wouldn’t have gone from selling gold to not even selling out one of the worst dives in Montreal. I’m not saying they should just give up, but to say they get bigger every year is simply not true.
*And yes I know that post I quoted was a year old.

MemberWow, Senorita. Never thought they’d ever play that live.
Still needs some What Are Friends For?

MemberWe’re Not Happy has good songs, but man does it sound like ass.
Good thing I have the live album.

MemberLike RBF fans don’t have reason to be disappointed? Cheer Up was sabotaged by the label (the reviews were great Aaron, I read a lot of them at the time), We’re Not Happy was sabotaged by the band (shitty and non-commercial production), and they haven’t made an album since. No, the B-side collection (with those songs you stole from the local high school ska band) doesn’t really count, even you said so.
I’m still surprised there are fans left that give a shit. They don’t really have any reason to, because you haven’t made it easy for us.
We’re Not Happy was half baked. It needed longer to cook both in songwriting and in song selection, and it being pleasant to actually sit through would have been a huge plus.

MemberIf it isn’t shitty like Rocksteady or full of filler like Saturn, then I might be interested.
I know hoping for something on par with Beacon Street or Tragic Kingdom is reaching considering Eric isn’t there, but those were damn good albums and its about time they step up the quality.

MemberI’m ambivalent on seeking this out. FIOE kind of soured me, but I really like the first two albums so I don’t know.

MemberI’m not sure why the Rock Band version is different, but this one has a solo at the end which instantly makes it better. I’ve been looking for a clean Rock Band version to compare, but no one has ripped it yet.
I wish more people would rip the songs from Rock Band and Guitar Hero, especially the ones with fade outs. There’s some cool stuff we’re missing out on.

MemberHe could have used that energy in new songs instead of the third or fourth version of a song from well over 10 years ago.
No offense to Dan, of course, but come on. I refuse to praise a performance on a rerecording of an old song. Especially since they play it live all the damn time.
