Memberhere's why this would make sense:
1.) next year (2010) is the 20th anniversary of the band
2.) someone said it's been said the band has finished the re-records -

MemberOnly one of the guys was in the band at the time. Will we be seeing re-records of the early stuff then?
No reason to skip that stuff.

MemberSpin The Globe is such a great song. The first time I heard ES it was literally the only song I loved. Obviously the rest grew on me, but that one I've always loved the most.

MemberYeah, I really just want them to finish the rerecordings already. Call You and I'm Her Man (especially the latter) are two of my favorite tracks of Monkeys for Nothin' and were also two of my favorites from Everything Sucks beforehand, so I'm excited to see what they do with the re-records.
I mean, if they can make I Want Your Girlfriend good, they can do anything with Everything Sucks.

AdminKeymasterFound an interview here http://www.joesbigtoe.co.uk/?p=466 from the Birmingham gig, Ryland talks about whats after the tours and mentions a "Greatest Hits'.
So after the tour, what’s next for the band?
Ryland: Well we’re doing Warped Tour in the states this sumÂmer, like I said hopeÂfully we’ll be back to do some festÂivals in the UK and Europe, and hopeÂfully a new record of oriÂginÂals. We’re also workÂing on a Greatest Hits, so we’re workÂing on all sorts of things. You’re old label released a Greatest Hits that the band didn’t approve of, will this one be more perÂsonal?
Ryland: Yeah we’re workÂing on our own proÂject, so it’ll hopeÂfully be put together later this year. -

Massive lulz if they rerecord the Greatest Hit album.
[/quote1265158989]This wouldn't make much sense, obviously. I think the point in re-recording some stuff is to regain legal control over their own songs, that Jive probably still has control over.
-
February 3, 2010 at 1:37 am #24943
The WindMemberBut only those recordings. Jive will always own their past recordings.

Memberunless sales plummet and they sell the rights to the band (not likely with RBF sales rising and everything).
