The WindMemberChris Batstone really is a great singer.
These songs really piss me off, though. I wish THAT band was still around.

The WindMemberThose guys are a bunch of doofs, but they have some great songs.
Check out this one:

MemberIt's silly, but that's some good songwriting. Also reminds me of 90s third wave. No pretension, just good songs and fun.
Though I'm pretty sure ska fans hate them, right?

MemberI just turn the video on for the music and do something else while it's playing.
I'd link to the video for this, but it has no embedding… Fucking labels.

The WindMember[quote1243809546=madamadam]
They clearly love themselves. Which makes me hate them a lot.
[/quote1243809546]This is the correct statement.
They're really fun to watch live. They played with RBF the last time they were here.
But they're those douchebags you left back in highschool. Their fratboyesque antics are harmless from a viewers perspective, but I'd hate to hold a decent conversation with any of them for more than 10 minutes.
Here's another SoOnt "ska" band that writes great music and loves themselves:
(Note: to reinforce these guys' narcissism, they disabled embedding for their official music video on Youtube)

jrock241MemberI checked this thread out yesterday and was very surprised at how good IllScarlett was. But already, I'm bored of them. It just lacks emotion or something.
Some of their videos aren't viewable in my country. I'm not sure if the band is responsible for that but that is worse than blocking embedding.
As for The Johnstones "Bank Song", I couldn't even finish watching the video. And if I want to watch a ska band rob a bank, I'd just watch [link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nuzi4WPVQs]Snail Ramp do it right[/link].

MemberI quite like Bank Song as a poppy, catchy tune. In fact, the more I listen to it, the more I like it.

MemberThat's the point, isn't it? The songs are good, but the band image and videos suck.
Snail Ramp is an awesome band. I just wish their stuff was easier to get. 'A Pizza Already' is an awesome song, that should be heard by all ska fans.

But they're still jackasses.

MemberThey have good production quality on their vids, but I'm beginning to think their songs all sound the same. Still pretty catchy though – I'll dl the album but they won't see my money.

The WindMemberI have noticed that they recycle transitions and a lot of their songs have a similar feel. If you're downloading their albums, their actual ska record, Word Is Bond, has more variation.

MemberJoe already mentioned it, but listen to this. It sounds almost like Dookie era Green Day playing ska. I love these guys.

And the only good version of this song on Youtube:
–
Like I said, great band. Too bad their stuff is so hard to find.
EDIT: [url=http://rs239.rapidshare.com/files/69572947/Snail_Ramp_-_Fresh_Brash_Old_Man.rar]This[/url] is the only album of theirs I could find online not in a torrent. And my computer can't do torrents.

[/quote1254517655]It's on a re-release of Word Is Bond. Or some versions, or something. That's the one they sell in HMVs.

MemberI believe they're late/mid 90s to recent. Their last song I found on youtube is from 2008. Their earliest sounds like it's from the mid-90s. Listen to the oldest and newest:

They are:
1. Mind Your Step!
2. BMW
3. Dish Washer
4. Unlucky Choice
5. Kiss My Finger
6. Call Me Up
7. A Pizza Already
8. Will
9. Little King
10. Piece Of Luggage
11. Over The Line
12. Next Time
13. A Woman With A Story
14. Go OutThey have alot more stuff, but this is the easiest stuff to find and start out with. If the first 4 songs don't blow you away, then why are you a ska fan? Seriously.
