MemberThoughts?
I just got it and I'm pretty let down, I gotta be honest. For being on a more advanced system and all that, the game feels a lot slower and Sonic feels like he's got lead shoes.

MemberWHY DID SEGA USE THE CURRENT SONIC DESIGN?!!?!?!??!
now that we got that out of the way.
The game feels pretty much the same as Sonic 2, only for the noobs.
It's ok, but it's something to make the fans happy.

[/quote1287066639]Why does Nintendo use the current Mario design in NSMB? It's called modernity. No reason to go back to potbelly Sonic after 12 years of modern Sonic.

MemberDunno…I'll give it more time but my first impressions weren't positive. It's probably just more that I need to get back up to speed (so to speak) and get used to the new tactics with the targeted attacks.

lol it's a joke.
The Fans are nip picky because they don't have the original Sonic design. -

MemberOh yeah…and I ABSOLUTELY FUCKING HATE the special stage to get the chaos emeralds. It's disorienting and not really fun. I would have loved to see the Blue Sphere game back…even the Sonic 2 special stage.
But yeah…there's a basic thing that should define any solid 2D Sonic game: run right; have a portion where you're going so fast that you're on the right side of the screen like as if the game can barely keep up with you. And this stuff isn't really mechanics so much as it is level design. I don't want cards that you have to target hit a few times for it to work.
There's also too many "fuck up and you die" parts.

[/quote1287461113]Yeah…it's a lot easier than the earlier games. Which those games weren't exactly hard…but you weren't getting them by the dozen each level. Maybe 2 or 3 in a level if you're good (including the special stage 1up assuming you got the chaos emerald).
