Seriously, we don't need the masses getting dumber.

But, good job. Reminds me of the time I walked into an EB and they were playing Op Ivy.

    • #7287

yeah, the black eyed peas is actually the reason i had to re-do my playlist… too much cursing. ghey.

i'm gonna make a new list once a week, so i'll keep you notified. 🙂

Try Still Stuck In Your Throat. A few songs spring to mind with no swearing in.

'Question Of Life', Those Days Are Gone', 'Movement In The Light', 'Housework', 'Everyday Sunshine', 'No Fear', 'Simon Says The Kingpin', 'When Problems Arise', 'Unyielding Condition', 'Fight The Youth' and 'Change' have no swearing in them and they're some of their best songs.

Weird Science! I love that song. They played that in my Best Buy about 2 years ago. The urge to resist dancing barely held.

      French rap… !lol
By the way, Adam, you're still in Belgium, right? How's it going with the secessionary process and all that stuff? Will they really split up for no reason on earth? That would be humorous…

I've been a naughty citizen and haven't been keeping fully up to date, but this is what I know:

The King is trying pretty much in vain to reform a government, but:
The french & flemish (read: dutch) speaking regions (Wallonia & Flanders) are arguing over random shit, mostly territory.

They can't agree on a government setup, but they can't agree on a split-up either (different people want different territories), so Belgium's fucked for now.

It'll be fun to see what the outcome is…

the new playlist for the week…

this is a call to arms – botar
      everything went numb – sm
      the fire – rbf
the devil made me do it – fishbone
another day in paradise – rbf
that's not really funny – eels
      pre-ex girlfriend – fif
      wiggerside – assorted jelly beans
      overkill – colin hay
in between days – the cure
dead or alive – oingo boingo
breakfast machine – danny elfman(from peewee's big adventure)
      friendly ghost – eels
the worst day since yesterday – flogging molly
      cheer up – rbf
under the sea – your song is good
dead man's party – oingo boingo
the impression that i get – mighty mighty bosstones

all the songs flow perfectly from one into another, and there's no downtime between the last beat of one song and the first beat of another. the transition between "dead or alive" and "breakfast machine" is so good it's disgusting. customers liked this playlist the most out of all the one's i've made yet. 🙂

You were worried about language and you played 'Wiggerside'? lol.

Good list, though. Next time play 'Timmy & The Lords Of The Underworld'. :p

      David Bowie – Queen Bitch
Dancehall Crashers – Elvis & Me
      Goldfinger – Pictures

They would be totally awesome additions.

    • #7896

already had queen bitch. and soon i'll be getting my pc back online, so i'll be able to take suggestions and actually get them.

i'm trying to infuse as much good music into the stupid shoppers of california, so i'm trying to stay away from duplicates. i have no problem putting in multiple songs by the same band, and they have to have no profanity(although a few do slip in from time to time, mostly on accident. hahaha!) so if you have any suggestions or songs you'd just like people to hear, let me know.

and as far as wiggerside goes… i just figured "fuck, no one can understand the guy"! hahaha! 🙂

I just love 'Queen Bitch'. What a great song.

Yesterday, I walked into our local HMV after getting some Christmas stuff and some shitty dance song was playing. I picked up Bowie's "Hunky Dory" and as soon as I turned for the cash 'Flathead' by The Fratellis came on. Weird experience.

In my experience of playing random songs to people, LTJ's "All My Best Friends…", RBF's "Trendy", The Aquabats' "Story Of Nothing!" and The Aggrolites "Mr. Misery" work well with them.

That's awesome. I never hear RBF anywhere. The only place I ever hear them is this female dj always uses an instrumental version of "everything sucks" and plays it quietly in the background when she talks. It's so frustrationg, i just want her to shut up so they'll play the song, but no
      damn 99.9

I hear rbf all the time on the radio, at the gym, and most recently at the mall while shopping at Tilly's. They even played the videos too.

I've never heard them on the radio. Only two ska songs I ever heard on the radio were Rancid's "Time Bomb" and Sublime's "Wrong Way". If you count 'Spiderwebs' by No Doubt, then that too.

I've also only heard them all once on the radio. Well, 'Spiderwebs' twice, but the second time lost the ska parts.

what stations do you hear them play on? i hear them on x 103.9 from time to time, and once on 91.1, that's it.

That your mum heard RBF on the radio and you didn't?

Could you not just listen to that song whenever you want outside of the radio?
