By the way, Adam, you're still in Belgium, right? How's it going with the secessionary process and all that stuff? Will they really split up for no reason on earth? That would be humorous… -

MemberI've been a naughty citizen and haven't been keeping fully up to date, but this is what I know:
The King is trying pretty much in vain to reform a government, but:
The french & flemish (read: dutch) speaking regions (Wallonia & Flanders) are arguing over random shit, mostly territory. They can't agree on a government setup, but they can't agree on a split-up either (different people want different territories), so Belgium's fucked for now.
It'll be fun to see what the outcome is…

Memberthe new playlist for the week…
this is a call to arms – botar
everything went numb – sm
the fire – rbf
the devil made me do it – fishbone
another day in paradise – rbf
that's not really funny – eels
pre-ex girlfriend – fif
wiggerside – assorted jelly beans
overkill – colin hay
in between days – the cure
dead or alive – oingo boingo
breakfast machine – danny elfman(from peewee's big adventure)
friendly ghost – eels
the worst day since yesterday – flogging molly
cheer up – rbf
under the sea – your song is good
dead man's party – oingo boingo
the impression that i get – mighty mighty bosstonesall the songs flow perfectly from one into another, and there's no downtime between the last beat of one song and the first beat of another. the transition between "dead or alive" and "breakfast machine" is so good it's disgusting. customers liked this playlist the most out of all the one's i've made yet. 🙂

Memberalready had queen bitch. and soon i'll be getting my pc back online, so i'll be able to take suggestions and actually get them.
i'm trying to infuse as much good music into the stupid shoppers of california, so i'm trying to stay away from duplicates. i have no problem putting in multiple songs by the same band, and they have to have no profanity(although a few do slip in from time to time, mostly on accident. hahaha!) so if you have any suggestions or songs you'd just like people to hear, let me know.
and as far as wiggerside goes… i just figured "fuck, no one can understand the guy"! hahaha! 🙂

MemberI just love 'Queen Bitch'. What a great song.
Yesterday, I walked into our local HMV after getting some Christmas stuff and some shitty dance song was playing. I picked up Bowie's "Hunky Dory" and as soon as I turned for the cash 'Flathead' by The Fratellis came on. Weird experience.
In my experience of playing random songs to people, LTJ's "All My Best Friends…", RBF's "Trendy", The Aquabats' "Story Of Nothing!" and The Aggrolites "Mr. Misery" work well with them.

MemberI've never heard them on the radio. Only two ska songs I ever heard on the radio were Rancid's "Time Bomb" and Sublime's "Wrong Way". If you count 'Spiderwebs' by No Doubt, then that too.
I've also only heard them all once on the radio. Well, 'Spiderwebs' twice, but the second time lost the ska parts.

Could you not just listen to that song whenever you want outside of the radio?
