The WindMemberThe motorcycle physics suck. When you crash into something when you're not going top speed, it guides you instead of actually crashing.
But it's really fun, apart from that. Reminds me of State of Emergency for the PS2, which was so much awesome.

Since it sold like twice as much in the US than in Japan, that's a good bet. Just wait until it's widely available here!

Memberfinally a good wii game that isn't from nintendo. this is what a wii game should be, using the controllers without forcing it and coming up with unique ways to play the game.
not to mention it has a ton of blood and the combat is a lot of fun between beating up guys and doing wrestling suplexes only to finish it by slicing them in half down the middle…it's a good fucking game and it's about damned time. maybe some other third party companies can step up now.

[/quote1202625911]yeah, free roam is lacking but there isn't much of it and i'm having fun exploring the bike and what i can do with it. i like that the game resets the bike to face outwards if you crash into a wall. that makes things so much faster and less hassle. though i do find myself sometimes trying to use Z to break instead of B…i think it would have felt better to be able to have the break on one hand and gas/turbo on the other. but that's just nitpicking since it's not a huge part of the game.

Well, I guess I'll be getting it then. The lack of blood is annoying, but why didn't they just make it like an option between the modes? The Wii has that whole parental lock thing doesnt it…

MemberWell, I never really got to play Symphonia (I have it, but haven't gotten to it, yet) but I played Tales Of Destiny for the PS1, and I guess the closest game to compare it to would be Grandia's battle system.
You can move around the battlefield freely, attack with the attack button, do special moves, and cast spells. It's almost like an action RPG battle system.
Would be interesting if they threw in some Wiimote stuff, but we'll see.

[/quote1202815391]That's pretty much it. I find it has a tendency to be a bit of a button bash sometimes though. But yeah, it's probably most like a fully real time version of Grandia. But I think Grandia 2 has a better system, you just have to think about everything more.

[/quote1203202002]yeah but i found the easiest thing to do was dodge and strike with her. suplexes sometimes get lost in the mashing. i've had it where i'm mashing A, the dizzy comes up, i mash B and it still acts as A. but i've learned to pace my A attacks so that i can readily suplex whoever without getting stuck in that mash.

Rock it With IMemberCan I just make one suggestion…
I've learned what the wrong thing to do in this game really is..
I decided to play through and do very little with the "upgrades". I made it to #1 and quickly went into the fight. The last person is hard when using the middle Katana.. MAKE SURE YOU BUY THE TOP KATANA!!!
Also, make sure you do ALL of the training.
And try to get all the lovikov balls and get all those abilities from the drunk in the bar.
Now, take this as u will, spoiler or not, but just know, that once you deposit the money into the ATM for the final #1 battle, BE SURE YOU HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED AS FAR AS UPGRADES, ETC!!! DON'T go to the Motel until u do!!!
Why?
cuz you loose your motorcycle upon exiting the Motel room. And know this, the bike sucks ass! But you can't get it back and use it for the drive around town.
So if you don;t have all the upgrades and you try to battle number 1, you'll most likely loose. And if you try to go back to the city to finish the upgrades, you WON'T have your bike to drive around the entire city. Meaning, you have to walk/ run EVERYWHERE, and try to raise LOTS of money to do the upgrades.
I'm seriously thinking I should just restart the whole game now.
So mad that I rushed through it.

yeah, i'm just taking my time with it. i already have all the needed upgrades from lovikov (just don't have the bad guy radar and the bonus). have the mkII right now and will be slowly working my way up to having the money for #4.
the only thing i'm not too sure of is that i'm doing my first run on easy and i don't know whether i should do my next run on medium or hard…guess i'll have to start either and find out.
and i'm sorry to hear that europe and oz are getting the censored version. that's bullshit to treat you guys like that and i can definitely relate growing nintendo in america (where even the nazis were removed from wolfenstein 3d on the SNES).

MemberFor the europeans:
The reason we get pissed all over for release dates is the massive amount of time translation takes. This is partly because of the 5 standard languages they release games in (English, French, German, Italian, Spanish) but also because the translating itself requires many redoes. You have no idea how easy it is for a professional translator to mistranslate phrases that we take for granted as basic in our own languages, something I've learned from Flemish TV in Belgium (I haven't taken a single Flemish class and yet thanks to the numerous subbed English/American shows & films I can vaguely speak the language and pick out many translation errors when watching TV) – those of you who watch Japanese anime will have probably noticed this too and put it down to the complexity of Japanese (which only adds to the problem). For this reason (amongst many), games in Europe are play tested many times simply for some dude to go "wtf?" and send the game back into translation.
If you ever played Mario Sunshine you'll probably remember the bizarre "Shine get!" sequences, in which case I'm sure you now understand the importance of getting your shit right, no matter how long it takes.

[/quote1204081700]that hasn't really been my experience so far from the inside. translating is pretty much the easiest part of the process when releasing a game. the code is already in place and all the bugs have been fixed that will be fixed and things that couldn't have been cut, it's just a matter of putting the new dialog in if needed and new text for the subtitles again if needed. probably the hardest part is when there's something like the standards they have in germany where you can't have any kind of reference to the nazis at all in any game or vague rules about excessive violence.
from my experience, the localization process takes only a couple weeks up to about a month and this is before the game is released and remember that games are normally finished a good couple months before their release.
from what i know….i don't have a good reason but i'm sure there probably is one…game developers hate to have games not out of the door already.

MemberYeah, the soundtrack is only out in Japan I read. I was thinking of getting it myself.
Check this site: http://downloads.khinsider.com/
Thousands of video game soundtracks, although it doesn't have No More Heroes yet, it might do sometime in the future. The way to download from there is create an account then you have to go to your CP and get a 'refferal' code that you make other people click. Each click gets you a new download. The click just takes them to the site, nothing dodgy. I've used it lots.
And I did get No More Heroes march 14th. Completed it, loved it. That last boss was a bit of a bitch though. I got every upgrade and everything that could be dug up on the map. And all the Lokikov balls things. Quite chuffed about that one.
Make sure you get all the beam swords as then you get access to the 'real' ending at the end.
