Membernot really. they had some minor success with that song "apple of the eye". alot of people see them as the joke of the aus punk scene. they first started out all post punk but than went poppy
the reason the matches and something with numbers became friends is because the matches played support to something with numbers with mc lars on their first tour of australia
i remember i went and saw the matches and something with numbers do a free record store show on that tour. not many people turned up
i know the band members use to hang out at this punkish nightclub i use to go to regularly. but i havent seen them there for a while. i barely go myself. it's full of 18 year olds dressing to impress
but anywho. most people that do listen to alternative know who something with numbers are
how was the matches popularity in the states? i know my ex traveled to california to watch their last show. after i got into them, i showed her and she became kindof obsessed

The WindMemberAs far as I can tell, the Matches have very little success in North America. I saw them when they toured with RBF and seeked them out myself after that. I've never seen or heard them anywhere or from anyone else.

Memberah ok
well the matches last tour here had them playing a headline venue as ive seen other bands like reel big fish, less than jake, the bronx and goldfinger headline. i didnt go to that show. but im sure it would of had a decent crowd

Desensitized
MemberI've seen more Canadians talk about the Matches than I'd ever seen Americans.
US peeps don't seem to like rock bands that formed in the 00s.
