Memberso i was just driving back from picking up food for lunch and as i was approaching my building, i saw a cloud on the road. i figured some truck had knocked up a cloud of dust or something. as i got closer i noticed the cloud was moving….bees. i tried to roll up my window but a couple still got in. now i'm hoping they're dead before overtime is done tonight.

MemberHonestly, I don't get it – are your roads made out of some strange chemical that turns into a slip 'n' slide when wet?
My parents are terrified of the idea that someone would drive 2 hours after having a cocktail (I'm not exaggerating), but even they have no problem with rain (although we probably see a fair bit more of it than you do I suppose).

[/quote1213923897]Totally agree with the moron assessment. It's really not that hard, but some people can't get their tiny brains around it. And I have no idea what I'm going to do July 1st. Driving is when I take care of my phone calling. I can't afford to make my phone "hands free"!

for being a "liberal" state, most californians seem to really like the government controlling every aspect of their lives. i can't tell if it's the self-righteous activist nature of the morons out here or what but i'm thoroughly sick of it. libertarians take note: los angeles sucks.

AdminKeymasterI think it was voted on about 2 years ago…and the government controls California any way it can, so long as they can make 20 bucks everytime you are talking on the phone while driving, or send you a ticket in the mail when they took a picture of your car turning on a red without completely stopping first. The government is pimpin' out everyone here to make up for the more then 8 billion dollar deficit we have, that the government created.

[/quote1213995028]the governator said last month that 300 deaths were caused last year by cell phones in the state of california.
i found that to be laughable. 300 out of what's probably near 100,000,000. not very statistically relevant.

MemberYou know, you're being a bit of a dick about this:
It's common knowledge that, regardless of law, using your mobile while you're driving increases your chances of not focusing on the road and crashing.
Even though I sometimes pick up my phone when I'm driving, I would be fully prepared to admit that what I was doing was dangerous if a police car happened to spot me (and decide it was worth pulling me over) or worse, if I crashed into someone.
I have no problem with this being a law over here, but sometimes you have to decide for yourself whether a law's worth abiding 100%.Stop whining.

[/quote1214090974]if you want to be a whore to the government, that's your thing. i'd rather give them as LITTLE power as possible.
and why even do it as a preventative enforcement? that's 300 deaths out of how many thousands or cars who don't have accidents while talking on phones?
if you want to protect yourself and others, ween yourself off of the government cock. cause that ain't milk you're getting back.

MemberMaybe I am in the minority when I say that I don't think driving is that difficult, and talking on the phone is not a distraction to me one bit. That being said, I understand that some people, for some reason, can not multitask. They may be a danger to others if they are on the phone. Maybe that should be part of the driving test. If you can't do other things while driving, you shouldn't get your license! That would sure clear up some of our traffic problems! !lol
