Authority Song reminds me of Potshot. Apparently, if you mix John Mellencamp with ska you get Potshot. Huh.

The Long Run is pretty much what you'd expect from RBF covering The Eagles. Since it's already a pretty good song, it works fine.

Nothing But A Good Time is pretty boring, unfortunately. Very generic. But then, it always was.

Veronica Sawyer is a great song. I really like this cover, but I haven't heard the original as it's not on the album I own by the band.

Authority Song – I really like this track, I just wish they'd gone with a ska backing on the verses instead of the punk backing…. although that might not have worked with the refrain the way it is….. the solo is thick and juicy! it's a real

Nothin' But A Good Time – this one's gonna feel real good at the beginning.. an alternative "Party Down"… it's gonna be a great song in the summer… love the reggae breakdown… Aaron's vocals are really comfy in this one… he sounds like, for him at least, it really doesn't "Get better than this"

Long Run – feels really good, reminds me of fire on the beach with friends… sunset behind…. feels resoundingly UN-RBFlike to me… but I like it and it'll put some good contrast on the record!

Veronica Sawyer – I LOVE the tune for this song…… The Lyrical content, however….. is fucking putrid… it's just really bad…. the chorus is good… but the versus are awful!

all of the songs really show off what I'm pretty sure the whole album will…. The strength of Aaron's voice….. it's not particularly skilled…. but it is and always has been (since TTRO) EXPRESSIVE AND CONFIDENT…. it gets better with each album and that's what I've always loved about it… there's so much emotion and feeling in his voice…… but not in a pissy moany way… in a sort of…. well, it feels like, after listening to an RBF record that you've just spent an hour talking to Aaron… it's like he's there 'cause he puts so much into it!

But their songs are really good.
