judging by that response, i guess it isn't a nice version or with the right apps installed? or is it just that they have it set up to where you're just a user and have no admin abilities?
We use CentOS. I guess I shouldn't complain. It's actually a very clean operating system and is pretty efficient. It's our admin that's a douchebag. He doesn't ever have anything set exactly right (if it's not one thing, it's another). No one's system is exactly the same, so trying to work together is difficult (can't read the same files, etc…). And no, no admin rights. In fact, we can barely even set user preferences.
not familiar with centOS but if you're lacking admin rights, you're pretty limited with linux. you need admin rights to do pretty much anything on a linux system.
