Happy Birthday to Matt Wong's kid and Happy Anniversary to Derick Gibbs. 1 year. Cool. Even though Mr. Gibbs will always be known as "Not Matt Wong" to me, I still love ya as you are in the best band ever. EVER!
I have and he keeps himself to himself at the back just like Matt Wong. Let's be honest, he didn't have the most technically difficult job. Derek can more than handle it.
Dave's right – he doesn't have much of a presence, sorta stays back and does his thing. Then again, this was one of the first shows of his first tour with the band, so maybe he's more settled in by now.
He did the kick dance with the rest of the boys, but he's still Not Matt Wong. Actually, he's a good bass player. I'd say Mattwong is a little smoother tho.
I've seen Derek play with RBF, FOE, and JFC. In fact I talked to him and John at an FOE show when I was wearing a JFC sweatshirt. I think he fills Matt's shoes admirably. Dave's right though, he hangs out in the back just like Matt did.
