Let me clarify. If his decision to un-retire was because he wanted to continue playing, accepting that money to stay away would have completely undermined his credibility. Of course, you and I would take 20 million to sit at home and do nothing. We haven't spent our entire lives dedicated to a single purpose. The money they offered him was a "buy-out" of his current contract. I truly believed that he wanted to play, and accepting that "buy-out" would have made me question whether he was trying to pull one over on all of us who did believe him. I agree the whole ordeal was annoying, but I wish him luck and if he can help the Jets beat the Patriots, more power to him! !lol
