johnMemberI bought this album at the Charlotte show…Aarron allowed us to pre-order it, and then get “super fast shipping” or something and that was his excuse for selling them at the show. The album is amazing, but no bonus tracks.
I was wondering (well, hoping) if/that the itunes version of the album which is available on July 31st will have a couple bonus/b-side tracks that didn’t make the album.
Heres hoping.

AngryOpossumMemberI kind of want to hear a new version of Make It Big. Prob wont happen though, I think Aaron hates that song.

MemberI like “Make It Big,” and I think it would have worked as a kind of cock-rock song had it been re-recorded for, say, Cheer Up!
I’d really just like to have re-recorded versions of every song from Everything Sucks that hasn’t been treated yet. I really liked some of the songs that were re-done on Monkeys for Nothin’.

BrianMemberI want Make It Big and most of all Spin The Globe. One of my favorite RBF songs and I want justice for it.

ReelBigCohenMemberLOL all everyone does is complain about all the covers they do. Yet, we are all asking for them but complain when they put them out. I always loved the covers and always will. If I had to pick some cover songs it would be the four song obituary and def Spin the Globe

johnMemberI happened to love every, single, re-recording the Fish made. Especially Down In Flames and the ska version of Good Thing. Between you and me, I would have given the Fish a hundred bucks just for those two songs. Good thing they only charged 99cents. Good thing, hah.
Now if they would only re-record (or studio record) SO MUCH FOR ROCKN ROLL , I’d be in RBF heaven.

MemberI missed it too! Apparently there was ANOTHER disc to “A Best of Us…” released back in May, but appears to be an iTunes exclusive. It has 18 tracks:
“Authority Song” (Originally by John Mellencamp)
“Brown Eyed Girl (Skacoustic)” (Originally by Van Morrison)
“Hungry Like the Wolf” (Originally by Duran Duran)
“Keep A Cool Head” (Originally by Desmond Dekker)
“Mama We’re All Crazy Now” (Originally by Slade)
“The Long Run” (Originally by Eagles)
“Twist and Crawl” (Originally by The English Beat)
“Won’t Back Down” (Originally by Tom Petty)
“Another F.U. Song” (Clean Version)
“Are You Sure This Is Cool” (Instrumental, Previously Unreleased)
“Cannibal” (Re-recorded)
“Down in Flames”
“Good Thing” (Ska Version)
“The Kids Don’t Like It”
“One Hit Wonderful” (New Demo Version)
“Cheer Up” (Live in Fullerton, CA)
“Snoop Dogg, Baby” (Live in Fullerton, CA)
“S.R.” (Masters Version, Live in Anaheim, CA)Some of those tracks were already released with previous bonus editions/online exclusive versions of the album (Another FU Song, Are You Sure This is Cool, One Hit Wonderful, Snoop Dogg Baby)
Not sure which of the covers are re-records, but Hungry Like the Wolf definitely is, and the skacoustic Brown Eyed Girl is new.
Cannibal, Down in Flames, and Good Thing are all new records, and I assume Kids Don’t Like It is too, since it was absent from all previous releases of the best ofs.
The live versions of Cheer Up and SR haven’t been previously released to my knowledge.
iTunes has the album listed at 19.99, with each individual track at .99. If you don’t already have the “Best of Us…” album you’ll get 78 tracks for that price, which is worth it even if you only want 20 tracks.

Brett McCormickMemberyeah i would like to hear a remake of Make it Big but the opossum has a point…. I think Aaron really hates that song…… oh well other that it may be a bit weird but a remake of Big Star, i just really like that song. I wouldn’t say another demo cause Monkeys for Nothin’ album was the one bringing the demos back, so they are probs tired of that still…lol

johnMemberSo turns out there are about 4, maybe up to 6 songs that got cut. Shame. Would have paid good money to have them. Just read an interview at thepier.org , and Dan explained it. They go back to their songs a bunch, so that never sound like they did when they started to write them.
Would love to hear rough cuts, early cuts of songs, b-sides, and the 4-6 cut and FINISHED songs for CCF.
REEL BIG FISH please here my plea!!!

MemberI remember on the commentary for the live DVD, they were talking about how So Much For Rock and Roll was written for We’re Not Happy… in its preliminary stages when they were working with an unnamed producer, and it was a five-minute disco jam.
The evolution of a Reel Big Fish song is probably a very interesting process.

MemberJust checked on that interview. “With Appletonβs lack of interest for being a front man and the subsequent elimination of ego concerns, the horns are left to play as a true horn section for the first time.” Good to know the band’s real concerns with Scott are finally coming out.
