      I like Aaron’s beard.

      I wish there were guitar or vocals in this video, not just drums. It sounds interesting though. Kind of different.

      Oh good. Aaron’s producing this one by himself as well.

      I mean bad. Oh bad.

      I’m sure David Irish will be involved! Since these aren’t familiar songs, his production style likely won’t be as frustrating. Or maybe he’ll try something new. I didn’t mind Monkeys.

      Today I let my nostalgia decide for me, so I listened to all of their studio albums from TTRO to Monkeys in a row.

      Fuck it, they can be SUCH a good band. TTRO and White trash are so great.
      After those, I’m noticing a definite trend from Cheer up on: while the first handful of tracks are generally quite or very good, second halves of albums get progressively weaker.
      On Cheer up my attention starts declining at RnR is bitchin;
      On We’re not happy I’m already pissed off at AWESOME and We hate it… but I get again into it until halfway through Story of my life… then it’s highs and lows.
      Monkeys… I really dig it until Another day in paradise (yes, also new version of you). But the following three… if everybody’s drunk can be fun the first few times you hear, the other two really kill this album (I happen also not to like Way back, which seems to be one of the favourites on Monkeys). Of course I’m not considering the “chimps”.
      This to say we shouldn’t be completely hopeless for the new album. Let’s wait and see what happens.
      Belaboring the point on “Way back”, probably what bothers me is to see such a great sounding intro/riff wasted for an overall quite banal song.

      Good analysis SAMU! I hope they put out something with a strong punk influence, something like Everything Sucks would be sweet. I really hope they dont try to do their usual “back to the past” sound. They need to evolve as a band and musicians. With that said, it’ll prob be more covers and very “bright” horn sounds
