Interesting. I don't know if anybody here cares about this news. Queen, for me, was the band that made me want to get into music. I think SBC is a good choice to play FM…
The only thing that doesn't make sense to me is the idea of ending it at Live Aid… I understand that Live Aid was a big triumph for the band… but the group ended with Freddie's death a meager 6 years, 2 albums and one tour later… it seems kind of like writing a book and tearing the last chapter out.
as for the whole SBC singing or lip syncing thing… they have enough sol voice recordings both on stage and off to have the lip syncing work and I'd prefer it… as good a singer as SBC is… it's a little hard to mimic an obnoxiously in-bread Persian with a British accent.
None the less, exciting news. Discuss, if you like.

The WindMemberI hope both David Bowie and someone playing David Bowie will be in it. Otherwise, I won't see it.

MemberPretty Much the last bit of Queen after Live Aid was just filler.
Beside, as a solid Queen fan, I really wouldn't want them to include the death of him. Plus it proably wouldn't fit well into the movie. It was a rumours into Freddie said that he Had AIDS at the last day of his life. Plus it would be sad for hardcore fans -

MemberI suppose I see where you're coming from. Then again, I wouldn't call EVERYTHING after Live Aid "Filler". you have the sold out headlining return to Wembley the following year. which sold out two nights in a row and spawned a spillover show at Knebworth park that was attended by 120,000 people. And you have the death…. which apart from being depressing, is an important part of the story… If you're going to tell the story, you should tell it all. Good and bad. especially when you have the emotionality of Freddie completely falling apart during the Innuendo sessions. It just feels like stopping at live aid would be a shame.

MemberI understand that, but the story ends on a "bad note". that's like making a movie about the titanic and cutting out the part where it sinks.

SamuMemberI don't see how leaving FM's death out of the movie will make it a better movie.
Even if it weren't a true story, it would have been the perfect unconventional ending. I can't think of an emotionally stronger one.
AND it's the true story!
So fuck it, making it end at Live Aid is a coward move. And I'm not even a Queen fan. -

Memberthat seems weird making one movie span 15 years and one movie span six.

MemberIndeed, There no point in adding a sequel.
Still, ending a movie at Live Aid sounds great if they do it perfectly, then they won't even bother with the death
