Man, my disappointment with Green Day continues to grow. Check out the tracklist to Green Day Rock Band and point out exactly what's wrong with this.

Venue 1: The Warehouse (an homage/mashup of the places where Green Day played at the start of their career)
      Dookie (1994)
      “Burnout”
      “Having a Blast”
      “Chump”
      “Longview”
      “Welcome to Paradise”
      “Pulling Teeth”
      “Basket Case”
      “She”
      “Sassafrass Roots”
      “When I Come Around”
      “Coming Clean”
      “Emenius Sleepus”
      “In the End”
      “F.O.D.”

Venue 2: Milton Keynes (the venue where they filmed the Bullet In a Bible concert DVD)
      American Idiot (2004)
      “American Idiot”
      “Jesus of Suburbia”
      “Holiday”
      “Boulevard of Broken Dreams”
      “Are We the Waiting”
      “St. Jimmy”
      “Give Me Novacaine”
      “She’s a Rebel”
      “Extraordinary Girl”
      “Letterbomb”
“Wake Me Up When September Ends”
      “Homecoming”
      “Whatsername”

      Warning (2000)
      “Minority”
      “Warning”

      Nimrod (1997)
      “Hitchin’ a Ride”
“Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)”
      “Nice Guys Finish Last”

      Insomniac (1995)
      “Brain Stew”
      “Jaded”
      “Geek Stink Breath”

Venue 3: The Fox Theater, Oakland (band's hometown)
      21st Century Breakdown(2009)
      “Song of the Century”
      “21st Century Breakdown”
      “Before the Lobotomy”
      “Last Night on Earth”
      “Peacemaker”
      “Murder City”
      “¿Viva La Gloria? (Little Girl)”
      “Restless Heart Syndrome”
      “Horseshoes and Handgrenades”
      “The Static Age”
      “American Eulogy”
      “See the Light”

      Downloadable Content (not included)
      “21 Guns”
      “Know Your Enemy”
      “East Jesus Nowhere”
      “Last of the American Girls”
      “¡Viva La Gloria!”
      “Christian’s Inferno”

Apparently even Green Day themselves has bought into the idea that they only did two things of worth in their entire career. 47 songs, nothing from 1039 and Kerplunk, 2 songs from Warning, 3 songs from Nimrod and Insomniac, and Brain Stew and Jaded as seperate tracks.

But of course we have plenty of material from their latest shitbomb.

You're supposed to use chances like this to prove you are more than a novelty act, GD. Where's At The Library, I Want To Be Alone, Going To Pasalacqua, 2000 Light Years Away, Christie Road, One For The Razorbacks, One Of My Lies, Panic Song, Armatage Shanks, Walking Contradiction, Stuck With Me, Redundant, Uptight/Last Ride In, Walking Alone, King For A Day, Prosthetic Head, Castaway, Misery, Hold On, Deadbeat Holiday, Church On Sunday, or Macy's Day Parade? Fuck, how about their cover of I Fought The Law or extra tracks from the Network or Foxboro Hottubs?

I guarantee these would all be more fun to play than like at least 30 of the ones that made the game. It would sure add some variety to the thing.

Yeah, as a Green Day fan (that's vastly changing these days, unfortunately) and a Rock Band fan (with decisions like this, this is changing too) this is a giant fuck up.

For a company that built is reputation by picking the 'right' songs for these games and not the most popular, they sure have messed up here.

      Rant over.

Meh, to be expected really. I couldn't see anything else except the whoring out of the last two albums. They'll bring by far the most money and interest with their current mass market appeal.

EDIT: But mostly, I couldn't care as Green Day's last good album was Warning for me anyway.

      ONLY TWO FROM WARNING?!?!?
      Agggggggggg.

      I'd probably still buy it.

Reprise owns all of Green Day's catalog too. So the fact that there are like 40 songs from like 3 albums out of 8 is just idiotic.

The only one of those I'd want to play in full would be Dookie, anyway.

… Seriously, how the hell can you leave out Misery, Walking Contradiction, King For A Day, or ANYTHING from Kerplunk?

only the $70.00 special edition ("Green Day: Rock Band PLUS!") has the export feature.

This would make more sense if Green Day had an extraordinary guitar player. It'll be extremely boring.

Led Zeppelin would be amazing. That's never going to happen though (and maybe for the best).

Why wouldn't they be able to do Led Zeppelin? They did a fucking Beatles one.

Because Jimmy Page is a pussy. (He's "scared" to hand over the masters to anyone)

That's not entirely correct; I just read that the Plus edition comes with the already-down-loadable 21CB songs and it bypasses the $10 fee to export, which you would otherwise have to pay for.
