BTW- It took me an hour to try on all those clothes you gave me. There were a few that were size 3 or XS that didn't fit, but I'm going to have to clean my closet out to fit everything I'm keeping. Very cute stuff! And jeans that fit! Yay! !lol

I don't think this is the exact order but it's pretty close:

      Sell Out
      Another F.U. Song
I Want Your Girlfriend/ Everything Sucks
      The Bad Guy
      Live Your Dream
      She's Famous Now
      Kiss Me Deadly
      She Has A Girlfriend
      Ban The Tube Top
      Authority Song
      Good Thing/ Your Guts
      Don't Start A band
      You Don't Know
      Nothin' But A Good Time
      Somebody Hates Me
      New Version Of You
      Where Have you Been
      Beer
      Trendy/ S.R. / Take On Me

I have to admit I was slightly dissappointed for it being filmed. Thought for sure they would have done more songs from MFNCFF and from the newer album but it was still lots of fun 🙂

    • #19920

sounds like an amazing set! holy shit! im pumped now!

    • #19917

you wouldnt have happened to remember Streetlight's set too would ya?

    • #19922

Awe jeeze, no. Jeanie might remember, but I can tell you that they kicked ass as well. I'm never disappointed with Streetlight Manifesto.

I'm unimpressed. It's about time they did Somebody Hates Me and Trendy but it needed more songs from MFNCFF.

EVERY RBF show is different! AND we've had TWO albums come out since the last DVD so you'll get to see some NEW songs, some old favorites and a few surprises that you'd NEVER expect!!!

So, are the "surprises" going to be on the dvd extras or was there something cool at the show?

Agreed. That set is nothing out of the unusual. I was hoping from that quote it'd be something very different, but that's really not.

    • #19932

The only conclusion I can draw is, they didn't want to perform songs that the crowd isn't very familiar with as far as singing along and dancing. It would have been weak putting a show on dvd with very little audience participation. It was a safe set list.

    • #19933
      Surly

That makes sense yeah, but wasn't the whole point of the DVD to get some suprises and newer songs on there…? That's what their bulletin said.

      I don't get it. 😀

    • #19934

I don't either. I guess you could say there were a few songs from MFNCFF and a couple from FFF. I just thought for sure they would have done Party Down, Cannibal, Slow Down…stuff like that, but I'm sure they had their reasons.

I can say that the crowd was a weird one. I don't think they would have "gotten" those songs, and the jokes pretty much went right over their heads. I can't put my finger on it exactly…just bazaar in my opinion.

this set list fails to surprise me, they said there'd be some shit we'd never expect… I thought this meant FOE songs or average man or an alternate "Talk Dirty" but there's really nothing much here we haven't seen before… never the less, I'm excited to pop this one in this summer!

They would be awesome. Maybe it's something to do with them advertising it as a DVD filming show?

If they just filmed it without telling people, then maybe a more harcore fanbase would just show up? I dunno, I'm just trying to find a reason.

Not to mention they'd really break up the high energy feel of the shows, the instrumentals are fantastic pieces in the studio and I'll always love and cherish them but I know that if they played one at a show I attended that'd be when I'd hit the merch booth…

This next statement isn't just about RBF, it's about any band that does this….

How come on DVDs they always feel the need to repeat songs, like just incase the people don't but the other dvds? YET, nobody expects that to happen on cds. Nobody [who isn't a mororn] is going to go buy a newly released cd saying "why wasn't Sell Out, SHAGFN, BEER, The Set Up, ect.. on this cd also?". You know what I'm saying?

Because they're live. You don't expect every song to be new every show.

What I mean is that if a couple new cds come out since the last show, then they should focus on the new songs. And because it is a special show, people should understand that the focus may be on a certain set of music. Many bands have played shows that only showcase a certain cd in proper order. I'm not saying a tour should be like this, just one show for the purpose of recording the dvd.

And Samu, you heard 'We Care' live? Holy shit.

Honestly, if RBF want to sell me a new live CD, they would have to do something like the setlist I posted. Because I already have a live album with about every other song on it, what could possibly be different about owning a second CD with little to no differences? I can't justify practically buying the same thing twice, only weaker, since the last live album was a triple disc set.

There's supporting a band, then there's bending over.

      [/quote1231661253]

amy: NEVER! sorry, but my hair's getting a lot longer before i pull a rask move. 😀

anyways, my take on the show:

FUCK THE FANS THAT CAME TO THE SHOW.
there were so many terrible people there that i honestly might never go to another show again. since when has it become a game to try and hit the band members with shoes and any other piece of shit you can find laying around? i've never been in a worse crowd, and it would seem like these people brought there a-hole game specifically because they knew it was a live taping. rbf and streetlight both put on amazing shows in spite of the fact that the people they were playing for were complete dildos, and i'll try and put together a complete streetlight setlist at the end of my rant.

so what happened for me was i met up with amy and jeanie at the back towards the beginning of "one pin short"'s setlist. they were a little band from vegas that weren't too bad… they sounded like a mix bertween pepper and slightly stoopid. i decided to battle towards the middle for streetlight and then towards the front for rbf. streetlight tore it up, in spite of NOT playing some of their key songs, but you'll see that in the setlist. rbf came on and i got as close to the front as possible. i quickly realized that i was in the middle of what was soon to be a streetlight-fan-fueled circle pit, but i decided to ride it out anyways. sure as sit, the first song started up and it turned into a sweaty, shirtless frenzy of idiots.

so i fought with it for a couple songs, said "fuck this shit", and moved to higher ground where i could ebjoy the show without being smashed. so i wound up on the stairs: perfect for being seen by the cameras, but still inopportune for not being kicked in the face by fuck-headed crowd surfers. so the poor group of people below me who were constantly being landed on by the fat fuckers trying to crowdsurf asked me to get them to stop, so i asked them(kind of jokingly) if they wanted me to hit them in the nuts when they took off. they said yes… so i wound up blasting two crowdsurfers square in the balls with a clenched fist just seconds after they took off. on top off that, i punched a streetlight fan right in the nose after he hit some fan in the face slam-dancing for no fucking reason, and i slammed another person right in the ribcage after they kicked me in the temple while crowdsurfing. fucking assholes.

so all in all, i love reel big fish, but their fans can suck my dick. good show though. 😀

    • #20098

Fuck, just shoot them and be done with it!

I will at the Milwaukee show tonight.

    • #20104

how are sm fans different to other ska fans?

i dont think we have this problem here…

    • #20109

At the Grove, the sm fans were extremely disrespectful, throwing a lot of shit at the band. I saw it a few times with RBF, but I think sm took the brunt of it.

I can't say I'll never go to a RBF show again…I'll just never go if they play at the Grove. As Much as I dislike HOB in Orange County…I'll take a mature, respectful crowd that can have fun in a small venue, over going to the Grove.

It's unfortunate they had to announce it being recorded, but legally they have to. It's an all ages venue, and they can get sued up the ass for video recording without making that peice of information knowledgable to fans.

But yeah, I have to 100% agree with Chris…the fans at that show were absolutely horrible. If they could've carpooled on the short bus, there would have been at least 75 of them parked up front. They were somethin' "special", that's for sure.

Yeah, I remember them getting a lot of shit on the old board too, and if I remember correctly, I think those members were bragging about how they got boo'd so bad that they had no choice but to walk right off the stage. I never got to see them, but that's pretty fucked up, in my opinion.

It's really mean, booing a band off stage. That's the cruelest thing one can do.
Anyway, I got mad at MxPx when 3 years ago they played with RBF because they took headline, so we got only 45 mins of RBF. So, when RBF ended their set my friends and I just got out to chat with the band and completely missed Mxpx.

i got to see mxpx with reel big fish when they played in vegas in 06, and rbf's fans were fairly considerate from what i remember. i really liked them, though… they put on a good fun show that got me pumped to see rbf.

Yeah, Mike Herrera threw his bass up in the air at the same time the stage hand threw another bass. It was cool.

I realize I am a week late w/ my comment but I have to second what Karl said earlier. The Milwaukee show was great. The crowd was really good. Pretty good setlist. I have seen RBF a million times and at least they played a few things somewhat out of the ordinary. Did you notice the person with crutches crowd surfing?

Actually yes I did and that guy was a trooper. I wonder if he got his other crutch back!
