I was eating dinner at this mexican restaurant in Eugene today with my dad and You'll never guess what I heard on the radio. Actually… you can probably guess… It was REEL BIG FISH. It's the first time I've ever heard an entire Reel Big Fish song on the radio (This radio host always uses an instrumental version of everything sucks and it annoys the shit outta me cuz I get so excited for a Reel Big Fish song). I asked the waitor where the music was from and he told me it was DirectTV sattelite radio and he thought it was channel 368 or something around that. I think it was the 90's station because it played quite a few amazing 90's songs.

Anyways, it made me happy :)

My local radio station plays Sell Out every now and then… I have also heard a live version of Trendy on it and She has a Girlfriend Now. They played Party Down once because Aaron and Scott were in the studio and asked if they could play the new single (at the time). They asked the DJ what song he wanted them to play (in the studio) and he said She has a Girlfriend Now because I think that was the only song he knew…

I wish Reel Big Fish was regularly on the radio in the Northwest. I never hear them on at all.

I've heard Alternative Baby and The Kids Don't Like It on 89.9 KGRG every once in awhile, but then they follow it up with some shitty emo crap.

I hear them alot on the radio, especially at the gym. Usually playing Party Down, Sell Out,Trendy, and Everything Sucks. And at the mall, they usually play Party Down while the video is on the screen at Tillys. At Jimmyz, they play my Matches. 😀

Almost always Papercut Skin when I'm in there, but it seems they play the whole Decomposer album, because the songs fall into the exact same order as my cd. 🙂

I heard Beer on the radio once, but I don't typically listen to the radio. My bf loves his serius radio. He says he sees RBF on there all the time, but he didn't start listening to the till I made him.

    • #16377

They don't play RBF on the radio here in Detroit. I like that though. It keeps em as an "underground success" in my eyes and not an everyday over-played, pop band.

I'd rather hear people randomly connecting with me than hearing it ALL the time like that stupid fucking "when he cheats" song by that stupid slut!

What annoys me is alternative rock radio. I'll turn it on, and it'll be a classic like BSSM era RHCP, Sublime, Green Day, Weezer, or even some Nirvana. Then right after that, they'll play some generic modern rock that all sounds exactly the same.

I miss when alternative was 'alternative'. You know, 'different'.

That stupid song by what's her name that is like "I dug my key into the side of his pretty little sup'd up four wheel drive..blah blah blah…"

It's been on the goddamn pop stations for over a year now and needs to die in a fucking fire!

(the work radio station plays it ALL THE FUCKING TIME…)

Carrie Underwood sings that. Hey, she may represent everything that isn't music , but at least she can sing. and I like that song (not like i'd ever buy it though). And she doesn't suck AS much as some of the other American Idol winners.

I know exactly what you mean! I call those bands the "Simple Plan" bands, cuz they all mimic that sound that came around about the time Simple Plan was popular. And they all sing about the same crap.

once again amy, what station do you listen to? i NEVER hear rbf on any of the stations out here. 🙁

and if you get sirius satellite radio and tune to the punk station, i guarantee that nearly every tenth song will be ska. they've played rbf, bosstones, less than jake, big d and just so much good music, i would actually pay the $12 a month for that station alone.

Oh no, trust me, I don't think she sux as a singer in anyway. That song is just REALLY annoying after being played over and over and over and over and over and over for the past year or more. Something new would be nice?!

KROQ plays RBF from time to time, but at the L.A. Fitness that I go to, they have their own little rotation of music that you can tune into when you are there. As far as the mall is concerned, it all depends who's working that day, and who gets first dibs on the overhead system.
