Anyone familiar with Lucky Boys Confusion?

They almost ruined the coast to coast roast, when I saw them live.

They're an incredibly boring and generic band who don't have even a speck of creativity or spark for music.

If you can find someone on this board who can say something positive about them, I'd definitely like to see it.

I saw them on that tour (C2C Roast) also. If I recall, that tour was at the HOB in Anaheim 3 nights in a row. The first night was a Friday and my birthday. My friend was talking people into buying shots for me, (Except Tyler, who tried to get ME to buy HIM a drink! Ass!)so I was pretty shitfaced. I thought they were good and bought their CD. As an aside, I barely remember RBF's part of the show! !sad

I went back on Sunday and thought, "Why did I spend my money on this?" They weren't bad enough to ruin the show, but if I had only gone on Sunday, I definitely wouldn't have bought the CD. I actually was sober enough to remember RBF that night! !lol

EDIT: After seeing JD's post (the one after mine) I remember that was the first time I saw Big D live. I love them!

They were REALLY boring and lacked any sort of charisma on stage. That would be fine, except their songs aren't good enough to carry them.

They really stick out like a sore thumb.

They actually got famous here in Chicago from a ska song called "I'm gonna steal your girlfriend" or something like that. They were number 1 on the top 9 at 9 on Q101 [which is like Kroq] which is crazy good for a local band. Long story short they signed a record deal, sold out to pop-punk, still are pretty big here in Chicago but never really stayed big in the national spotlight.

For the Coast 2 Coast Roast concert here in Chicago they "Co-headlined" and play over 1 hour 30 minutes and RBF only played just short of an hour. We got ripped off. But the dumbest thing is that LBC didn't even play the ska song that made them "famous" on a SKA tour.

I remember NOT watching them for that tour.

Chicago had a problem with putting ska and pop punk in the same catorgory. Probably because most chicago pop-punk bands started off as ska bands until they fired the horn players a week later.

We have to put up with the worst warm up bands at ska shows.

Edit] LBC had RBF horn players come out and play a few songs, on their NON-ska songs, and yet played no ska. LBC must be filled with stupid people.

Poor Chicago.

I find it hard to imagine there was a time people would get famous with ska and then abandon it to be cool. It seems like such a waste of time, yet there's STILL bands doing it! WTF?

I remember hating them. At my show we didn't get Big D, we got Suburban Legends instead. I wish SL would've replaced LBC. They suck. Plain and simple.

Chicago almost had…. [it's written on front of the C2CR t shirt, maybe Jenoah?] but they had some members quit so SL joined the tour again and thank God they did. LBC and Jenoah would have been horrible. Big D should have been on the full tour instead of LBC.

I wish I could have saw both Big D and SL at the same venue.

I don't think I would want to see them anymore for fear of them playing too much disco-pop. But they may have redeemed themselves with their newest cd, but I haven't heard it yet. It's super cool that Big D put out an all ska cd, that's unheard of from most ska bands recently. The Mad Caddies now call themselves reggae now instead of ska, their newest album SUCKS. I give props to bands like Big D.

Mad Caddies have a newer album? (Unless you mean 'Keep It Going')

My only problem with that album was the lazy songwriting. You could tell they didn't try on a few of the songs. Whereas on 'Just One More' (Best post-3rd wave ska album yet), they were truly inspired! They had a story to tell and sound to show on every song. That's also why 'Duck & Cover' was great and why 'Rock The Plank' and the ep are shit.

Mad Caddies are a band that needs focus to come up with good material.

Big D is perpetually underrated. 'How It Goes' comes out and everyone complains it's not as good as 'Good Luck', then 'Strictly Rude' comes out and gets ignored. At their peak and everyone wants them to be generic again.

At the end of the day, all ska fans want is quick jumpy punk music with horns and a couple of 'skipping fags'.

I just want interesting and/or inspired music.

I think Keep It Going is a solid album. I like the reggae sound they added.

I don't actually think it's a bad album. It's certainly not their worst.

Dude, the EP is brilliant. It's probably favorite Caddies release, and also one of my favorite EP's ever.

Really? I only liked two of the songs, and that cover was just… Pointless, I guess.

I really liked the EP. Definetly better than Rock the Plank (which wasn't ALL bad, but wasn't great).

Yeah, there were some great songs on Rock The Plank, but just reading the liner notes, you can tell they were all over the place when it was recorded. And it shows. I mean, I think 'Shaving Your Life' and 'Depleted Salvo' are pure shit.
