MemberSo, a lot of Reel Big Fish songs seem to be talking about a specific girl, such as "She has a girlfriend now", "alternative, baby", "she's famous now", etc………are there actual stories behind the lyrics of these songs, or something that inspired RBF to write these lyrics?…..While we're on this topic, are there ANY RBF songs that have interesting stories behind their origins??

jrock241MemberIsn't 'Snoop Dog, Baby' about the girl from The Goodwin Club? I have never been able to find anything about that band besides a few small mentions on old ska flyers.

MAX!MemberI heard somewhere a story behind "The Set Up (You Need This)"
Apparently they couldn't think of a good title for the song and one of the guys at the record company was all like "Come on you guys, we need this let's get the setup" or something like that so they called it "The Set Up (You Need This)"
That's just what I heard though.

MemberI think I heard somewhere that they couldn't think of a chorus for "Scott's a Dork", so they just put that line in until they could come up with something else. I guess they never did! Then again, I could be totally wrong!

Rock it With IMemberI heard that songs like Boss DJ, New York New York, Another Day in Paradise and Take On Me were written by someone else.
I dunno, could be all hear-say, but I kind of think I believe the rumor.
btw-before you all think I am being serious. Take the cock out of your ears and hear the sarcasm. 🙂

MemberNope. I really never saw the need. I honestly don't think I'd use it enough to make it worth spending money right now on it.
And your new name threw me off. I was like, who's this poser using Amy's avatar? !lol I like it though!

MemberI asked Dan in an email what Legend of Alan Guile vs. Peter Bones was about and I laughed when I read this:
"The title comes from final fantasy 7 on playstation. Scott and i were a little messed up, and made up our own names for all the characters… so Allen Guile is the main blond hero in the game and peter bones was the final baddie. since scott and i wrote most of that song, we got to name it… heh."

[/quote1215925491]I know. But I don't really watch movies, just TV. And since I'm not home a lot, I like my VCR to tape the shows I can't see. If I got a DVD player, I would have to hook and unhook my VCR and it just seems like a hassle.

[/quote1216017269]hey, If you don't want to buy a DVD player and you have an iPod & the live album then I could rip "you're all in this Together" to MPEG-4 and send it your way in parts….

MemberActually, they is me. But if a parent walked in while I was watching an RBF DVD, they'd probably wonder what the heck I was watching. I do have an abbreviated itunes library on my work computer, but I only listen to it when the center is empty and I can click it off at a moments notice.
