MemberIt's midnight, I live in Long Beach and it's hot here. It's 72 degrees! I can't imagine how hot it must be in the I.E. Going to the Angel game tomorrow, I'm scared about the heat. All the rest of you, please share your weather, maybe those of us in SoCal can cool off listening to you!

Memberof course today i decided to find street fighter for psp and i ended up driving to 5 different stores (pasadena target, fry's in burbank, and the empire center for the last 3) before finding a copy. the last 3 were all at the burbank mall and i ended up walking about a mile between the three stores and back to my car (i basically ended up walking around the whole parking lot since target and best buy are on opposite ends and gamestop is up at the front).

MemberSeems it's hot everywhere… Even here in Belgium we've had like a week of cloudless skies and incinerating sun, and even though the past few days have been overcast, it's still been way too hot to even consider sleeping with a duvet…

[/quote1211115917]Yeah, this kinda sucks but I kinda looked forward to it in some ways. My brother and his friend are going to the Angels game today. They bought nose bleed seats, but brought the binoculars to scope out any season pass holders taking off early, so they can steal their seats.

MemberI always do that when I go to a game I don't already have tickets to! I don't think they'll have a problem. Watching the game yesterday, it looked like there were plenty of seats in the sun!

MemberIt's finally starting to cool down. At least at night and by the coast. The problem with my place is that it holds heat like crazy. It's down to 66 outside, but it's still 79 inside! Thank goodness it's gonna cool down the rest of the week!

MemberI guess they figured that I'm close to the beach so I didn't need A/C. But I'm really not that close. I have to use my ceiling fan and another box fan to stay cool! Tonight is better though!
-
May 21, 2008 at 2:50 pm #11459
AdminKeymasterYou don't have any AC? How far away are you from the water?
-
May 22, 2008 at 7:03 am #11461
Jeanie
MemberAbout 5 miles. I've never in my life had AC. I grew up in Huntington Beach, only 2 miles from the ocean, and we didn't have AC at my parents house either. It was still hot! But I guess 85 isn't as hot as 105!
Went to college in Santa Barbara, which is much cooler than L.A. It was still hot at times, though!
I know, I guess I'm just spoiled. Never lived in a place where the weather gets over 100.
But what about these winds lately? Crazy!

AdminKeymasterYeah, it's just a matter of time before some crazy asshole goes around lighting fires everywhere when the weather really heats up and the winds start blowing.

It's not like I have a basement that I can hide in with my kids. I don't know what to do.

[/quote1211515808]I heard that! My grandma lives in Canyon Lake which was also under the watch. I also heard they saw a funnel cloud in Perris. The pouring rain, lightning, and thunder today was nuts! We went from one extreme to the other pretty quick.
On the bright side, I'm going to Mammoth this weekend (they close Monday), and they got 3 inches of snow last night. Probably going to snow Sat. and Sun. too. I was hoping for a little spring skiing, but the cold will help the snow hold up better! !lol

AdminKeymasterYeah, yesterday was nuts. That funnel cloud touched down 2 miles from my house.
You should have a good weekend in Mammoth with this crazy weather, just be careful!!

MemberSo Mammoth rocked! We left about 3:30 am Sat morning, drove through the rain all the way until it turned into snow. We got there about 8:30. It snowed lightly all day. Light snow continued through Sunday afternoon, then late Sunday afternoon it started dumping. It snowed hard through the night and when we woke up this morning, there was a foot of fresh powder and beautiful weather. Conditions were as epic as they could be for late May! Hope you all had a great weekend too! Here's a picture I took:

MAX!MemberI live near Seattle and it's actually been quite a little bit colder than most springs here which is kinda weird. Jeanie, you seem to be a huge Angels fan, so you and me have an AL West Rivalry now (me being Mariners). God I wish the mariners didn't suck so much ass this year. Being a Seattle sports fan is kinda depressing right now (Mariners sucking, Sonics moving) but when the Seahawks start playing again I can be happy. We're also getting an MLS team soon. Yay for soccer! Woo Hoo! (I really don't actually watch soccer much)

[/quote1212006974]Well, it's not turning out to be much of a rivalry this year, huh? !lol Talk about a major disappointment, considering a lot of "experts" picked them to win the AL West over the Angels this year. I know, there's still 2/3 of the season left, but…
And L.A. has 2 MLS teams, one of which employs one of the most recognizable soccer players in the world…and still no one cares! 😐

[/quote1212042866]nobody cares about that team cuz they are pretty bad. not many people that i know of picked the mariners to win but i thought they would've improved at least a little from last year, so yeah, it's a major dissapointment, I miss the 95-01 teams, they were always good.

MemberMaybe your friends didn't pick them, but you obviously don't watch ESPN or read The Mag. I was pretty pissed when they said the Mariners were the tops in the AL West. However, if the Angels don't start swinging the bat better, we'll be in trouble!

…next year is a different story tho
