I must have been the only one with a 360 that didn't get Halo 3 when it came out.

I'm pretty sure it won't outsell Halo 3. Too many Wii owners who only own Wii Sports and refuse to play anything else…

I found the single player to be entertaining but it's nothing like playing the first back in 2001 for the first time.

Halo = old.

Call Of Duty 4 and BioShock are some awesome 360 games. I haven't played Halo 3 yet, but it can't be much better than those.

Yeah, I just finished another run through of Earthbound a few days ago. Still one of the best games ever.

There's ANOTHER rumor of Nintendo doing a compilation of the Mother games on the DS, which would be nice. But it seems like Nintendo hates the series for some reason.

they got burned bad in the US with earthbound. they did a huge huge huge push for it and it didn't sell. i remember nintendo power hyping it up and that actually turned me off from it at first. never did actually ever get to buy the game…and now the cartridges are way too expensive and there's no way to legitimately buy a copy.

Well, it was a pre-Final Fantasy 7 RPG. Other than Mario RPG, they all flopped. The reason classics like Secret Of Mana never had their sequel released here.

I actually rented it with a friend of mine when it came out. Based solely on the back of the huge box. I was blown away by everything about it, it was so different and fun. We took turns playing it before we got stuck in Threed with Jeff. Eventually we made it up to Fourside, but we brought it back before we got any farther.

One year later I found the game at our local Zellers and I got it. I've been playing it about twice a year since.

Naturally I was surprised whenever I met people who never heard/played it before. Then Smash Bros. came along and I blew everyone away with him. And Smash Bros. is fucking HUGE, it broke Fire Emblem over here. You'd figure with that exposure, Nintendo would give the series a better shot.

Yep, possibly the best in the series.

1 – came over here as Final Fantasy Adventure (then Sword Of Mana)
2 – Secret Of Mana
3 – We got Secret Of Evermore instead of this
4 – Legend Of Mana for the PS1

Square loves reporting the Final Fantasy games, but when it comes to anything else they don't even bother acknowledging them.

I loved Secret of Mana, great game. Then I got halfway through Seiken Densetsu 2 and thought it was great. Not as good as the first but still solid. Unfortunately i lost the rom and haven't been bothered to get it to start again. I never really got into Secret of Evermore, don't know why, it just didn't have the same appeal. Maybe I'll have to go digging again if there's a third which is the best!

The second game was 3 characters out of 3. The third had six different characters which led to A LOT of reply value.

And Ness & Marth have been officially confirmed for Brawl.

That's all I wanted, the rest is merely extra awesome.

EDIT: People have been saying different things about Ganondorf. That he is and isn't a clone. I personally don't wanna find out anything more now except what's put on the dojo. People are reading the whole story of the Subspace Emissionary which seems really stupid.

I don't even like Mewtwo, but I know a lot of people liked him and he's the only character with an original moveset that got removed.

The final list is fine, but the abundance of clones (WHY is Ness' final smash PK Starstorm?) and ROB is idiotic.

The final roster of Smash Bros. Brawl has been revealed and it's a bit disappointing.

No, I didn't expect Geno at all actually. I was using an example. I got the characters I wanted, but I think having three characters with the same basic move-set, ROB, Ganondorf STILL a clone, and for some reason cut a character a lot of people like (not me, though) is kinda disappointing.

I didn't like Pichu, Dr. Mario, or Mewtwo. But if clones were brought back for other characters, they might as well have thrown them in. At least they make good punching bags. Either way, they're pretty disposable. (One of my friends' main was Roy, btw)

That said, I think everything else about the game looks top notch. The crazy amount of music alone beats any other game this year.

i dunno…i don't think a game like this can ever live up to expectations because everyone's expectations are different. i would have loved to see mega man in there and maybe protoman as a trophy or something but nope…oh well. it still looks kick ass and can always hope they do another one before the system is done.

As for another Smash on the Wii… I don't know. I'd like one, but Nintendo seems stuck in the one-series-entry-per-system they've been in since the 64.

In other news, I got the entire soundtrack downloaded. All 304 songs.

It's fuckin' awesome.

And I found some of the cut songs. Jon, you're gonna hate this, but this was cut:

heh….not my favorite but would have been a better one than their choices. i only have the 107 song soundtrack…gonna have to try and find that one now. damnit.

my fave earthbound songs: moonside, winters, and the great under world and the weirder boss fights….the guy labeled that song as the hippie fight but i thought it was first used as frank's boss theme?

In the first game (Earthbound Zero/Mother) it was the Hippy music. That's not the version that was supposed to be in Brawl though, it was probably remixed, they just can't find the Brawl version.

It kind of annoys me because a lot of the best songs were cut. Link's Awakening Ballad Of The Windfish, Geno's Mushroom Forest Theme from SMRPG, and a bunch of Earthbound songs. But at least, they included a few from the Donkey Kong Country games.

And the Winters theme is in the game. Which is awesome.
