MemberHere's a reminder of what came out…
The Hives – The Black & White Album
Saves The Day – Under The Boards
Dinosaur JR. – Beyond
Aggrolites – Reggae Hit LATechnicality to Andrew WK's "Close Calls With Brick Walls" as it came out on vinyl only over here, but is out on CD on the other end of the planet. But it's pretty damn good.
Other good albums (but not their best) go to Mad Caddies and White Stripes. Both fantastic, but not my personal favorites. Streetlight, Pietasters, Jimmy Eat World, Big D, RBF and Say Anything put out some pretty good ones this year, too.
Disappointment of the year goes to Ted Leo. I know he can do better. Also throw in a vote for Modest Mouse.
That's all I can specifically remember right now.

…White Stripes…
[/quote1197571560]
oh shit…that "icky thump" song sounds like mc pee pants, and that terrible noise that's supposed to pass as a solo sounds like they're trying to sound like rage… if rage sucked.the white stripes started out strong, "the white stripes" and "de stijl" were great. "red blood cells" was good, "elephant" and "get behind me satan" were ok at best, and now "icky thump" is just a slap in our faces. they pawn off shitty music as being experimental. it's my theory that jack white is pushing bad music as far as he can, just to see if people will still herald any terd he forces out as absolute genius, and my guess is people will eat up every piece of shit he comes out with.

MemberThe first album is extremely overrated, though. White Blood Cells was their best and their first remains their worst. The new album was successful in them FINALLY changing the sound a bit. Their single and Radiohead's Bodysnatchers (or whatever it's called) song are the only singles played on mainstream radio this past year that were any good.

MemberStreetlight definately had some great songs on their new album. RBF has some good hits. But I don't know if I would call them album of the year.
Caddies always put out music that I love, so I would give it to them. There new album was great.
Also, I know you guys will probably rip on me for this, but I like the new Paramore cd, "RIOT!". Hayley just has a great voice, and the guitar riffs are pretty cool. However, they always play better acoustic.
