Basically, DJCheddar was this guy from the old board who joined the new board and, displaying pure intentions and good-heartedness got made moderator to make the admin's job a bit easier.
Problem is that he was not the impartial, non-prejudiced, perfect-guy-for-the-job that he wanted us to think (and probably thought himself) that he was.

People began to notice this and said so.

Cheddar reacted very poorly to this and displayed more lack of right-guy-for-the-job-ness.

Dave called him on it in a poll asking him to step down.

Shit hit the fan.

Cheddar, whose mind had developed a large crack down the centre, started running around Phoenix with a large steak knife and blood-stained overalls, got caught by the police and sent to the nearest institution.

We haven't heard from him since.

I wasn't actually around at the time – I missed the whole thing by a day or so, but this is what I pieced together from the evidence. How close am I guys?

If you're still interested, the whole story (apart from the knife & blood thing which I may or may not have made up) can be found by browsing threads in the feedback section.

Trev was the one who finally sent him over the edge though, with a series of counterpoints to his crazed rants about how he hadn't done anything wrong. You can't see these posts though, cos Cheddar deleted them so no one else could see him getting pwned.

What sent him over the edge was me making a sequel topic when he closed your pole. That's when he went bat-shit crazy and locked every topic on board and deleted every new post while he was on the board.
I was at ground zero: it's the most fun I've had on the Internet with my pants on.

I only caught the end of it, but man, was he nuts.
