5. Pearl Jam – they're the ones who got me off of rap and crap music in '91 with Ten. They kind of faded over the years though, Vitalogy was my last fav of theirs… But I respect them for what they helped me do
and that was stop listening to Kris Kross and Vanilla Ice! lol4. Aquabats – got a tattoo of their bat when I was 18 yrs old (which was '98
) I like the Fury the best. The rest have been good too.3. Weezer – Have a tat of their W on my arm in blue color. big fan since the Blue album! Pinkerton was fantastic! Green was, meh… Maladroit, pretty good, Make Believe, was very good!
2. Vendetta Red – Second album (Red Sisters) did it for me! If you haven't heard em, you should check em out! I1. Reel Big Fish – HUGE fan since 96! They were the ones to start me on this great thing called Ska music! Life became so much more fun after that! I don't think there is a CD that stands out better than another for me. They all rock! Still wanting to get the fish tattoo'd somewhere.

MemberMy taste in music has gone through so many extreme changes in the last 8 or so years that I simply cannot pick 5 all time favorites. However I will put up my top 5 current favorites.
5. Bomb the Music Industry- They are a somewhat new discovery for me. The type of music they play is completely undefinable and in my opinion completely amazing. I can honestly say that there is not one song by them that I do not like
4. Sublime- Simply good in almost any situation. Also the band on this list that I have been listening to the longest.
3. Gogol Bordello- Simply insane. Possibly the strangest thing I have ever heard yet I love them. My aunt who lives in Brooklyn (where they got their start) bought me tickets for one of their shows a couple years back and I listened to the CD and thought there is no way I will enjoy this concert. I was wrong. Best live show I have EVER seen. Their new CD Super Taranta is awesome as well.
2. Reel Big Fish - Yeah they aren't my #1 keep the hate away. I love everything they do and any long explanation I give will fail to express how much I love RBF. So I'll end on that.
1. Streetlight Manifesto- Possibly the only reason they are my number one is I only discovered them about a year ago when I saw they were touring with RBF so I haven't gotten frustrated with the lack of a new album. I bought Everything Goes Numb to see what they were like. I was blown away. Everything Goes Numb is in my opinion the greatest CD ever recorded. I can listen to it in any situation and it will speak to me. I just hope the new CD, which is according to what they have said at live shows, is just as amazing

Member5.Bouncing Souls-Don't know how to describe this band, awesome.
4.The Aquabats-Some kid at school liked the Aquabats, so I was like wtf is the Aquabats, super rad.
3.Less Than Jake-My first somewhat ska band, found them looking up random bands on purevolume
2.Reel Big Fish-Definitely close second, Reel Big Fish is my favorite band that is still together.
1.The Forces of Evil-Best Band Ever, love every one of their songs. Except 99 Hell (Jay-Z Remix) because I've never heard it before. -

Member5. The Offspring- simply amazing punk. they are so high evergy and quite witty too. any one else notice that they always have at least one ska song on every album?
4. Something To Do- a great local ska band from milwaukee. i'm simply in love with these guys. everyone go check them out on myspace.
3. Green Day- well i do admit that since american idiot came out they have gotten kind of annoying, but i still love them. they will always hold a special place in my heart cuz they are pretty much the first band i every remember liking. i can remember listening to dookie with my dad when i was like 5! they were pretty much my favorite band until i was about 12 when i discovered ska.
2. Streetlight Manifesto- simply incredible. their music is just so good and so intense, you can't even describe it. Everything goes numb is amazing.
1. Reel Big Fish (of course)- i'm gonna try not to go into too long of a thing about them since i know everyone here loves them already obviously, but here goes. their music is some of the best, wittiest stuff i've ever heard. it can always cheer me up. like aaron and scott said "they're all hits!" not only that, they are great people. The are some of the most halarious people in the whole world and some of the nicest people you will ever meet ( i know, having met them twice!)
last time i met them aaron told me he recognized me from myspace 🙂 that too, they actually take the time to answer messages and comments on myspace personally. they really care about their fans, hence the song We Care. i could go on forever but i'll stop now -

Member5.Rage Against The Machine – i love so many of their songs and as matt bellamy said "RATM make me want to go out and kill everybody". i listen to them when im angry and it somehow gets my anger out lol
4.Muse – matt bellamy is such an AMAZING singer and his guitar solos are so amazing too i just love muse, favourite songs are either time is running out, knights of cydonia, hysteria, plug in baby or thoughts of a dying atheist
3.Streetlight Manifesto – really close second, i can relate to their lyrics alot sometimes and ive just never heard anything like them before. REALLY wanna see them live
2.Less Than Jake – these guys are so funny and theyre songs just make me wanna dance but still make me think
1.Reel Big Fish – what can i say? best band ever. i think the best day of my life was meeting aaron, scott and ryland. i am so obsessed with them, but i just cant help it theyre just too amazing! theyre songs always cheer me up and make me feel great. cant expolain how much this band mean to me.

Member5. Bob Marly and the Wailers- if it wasnt for these guys we most likely wouldnt be on this site, or this music may not be around.
4. Led Zeppelin- these guys are rock gods, pure and simple
3. Sublime- Brad Nowell (think i spelled it right?) was a musical genuis. with out a doubt 40oz. to Freedom was his best stuff. they also have AMAZING covers.
2. Reel Big Fish- these dudes pretty much created what we call 3rd wave ska (not totaly, but they did contrubute a hell fo a lot) even so they have over 100+ songs of there own, not including covers, which no other band has even come close to covering songs like they do.
1. tie between Catch 22 (Keasbey Nights era), Streetlight Manifesto, and BOTAR- basicly tomas kalnoky is one of the best song writers, lyricist, and frontman EVER. Keasbey Nights is a work of art, i dont like the SM version, but it is still good. he wrote the entire Keasbey Nights, A Call to Arms, and Everything Goes Numb. words can not discribe how amazing he asnand how much he has contributed to the ska scene. can not wait for SM's new cd, hopfuly BOTAR is gonna release something soon.

Do you need an explanation for having Catch 22 on your list while putting Streetlight in bands worth noting… yes…. I really think you do. Especially after Permanent Revolution.

Sucks that I disagree with you on everything. PR was trash. Shitty lyrics, Horrible Vocals, Horns were okay, but nothing to get excited about. The fact that they tried to get all serious and make a record with a message robbed all the energy that I had come to enjoy in post-Kalnoky Catch 22. I bought this album without listening to it at all first and was severally disappointed. I wish I could take those 13 dollars back. Its not like I hate all albums that try to have intelligent lyrics I just think that Catch completely failed at it. -

5) The Urge – Local band that had a national hit in the 90's but I have always liked them and my introduction to Ska.
4) Muse – Simply awesome.
3) Flogging Molly – Nobody sounds like them and simply one of the best acts out there.
2) Reel Big Fish – Their music has been the soundtrack to my summer for years.
1) Nine Inch Nails – Trent is simply amazing at everything he does. -

Simon and Garfunkel
Eagles
Billy JoelThese artists bring me back to my childhood, they are what my parents listened to when I was growing up.
