hmm , besides the Foufs ( youre lucky, its right next to the venue)i dont think we got anything else cool to see..well theres that thing called the festival juste pour rire, going around at that time, but i dont know anything about it, so..yea , cant help you.
i got to aware you, downtown montreal is full of construction everywhere, since about a year.. it’s really not that nice to visit right now!! ..
but the place des arts has been renovated, and it’s a pretty place.
and you dont have to worry with your french ,more people speak english than french downtown..which makes me sad, lol.
