Looking forward to an easy group stage?

Not a single notable team in our group. Nope. Can't think of one.

I'm pretty happy about it.

And as confident as I am we'll top the group, you know fine well we'll make a right meal of it.

And someone vital will get injured just before the tournament or during the group stage.

The USA is always bitchy in the group. I won't say anything about OUR group though.

(*cough*easiest ever*cough*)

Because I'm bored and have nothing better to do, I've put together a prediction of the way things'll play out. Some of the groups are very difficult to choose the 2 qualifiers from (with the exception of Group G simply because I don't like Portugal and hope they fall at the group stage) so you'll probably disagree with a couple of my choices:

Group Stage(1st,2nd)
A: Mexico, France
B: Argentina, Nigeria
C: England, USA
D: Germany, Serbia
E: Netherlands, Cameroon
F: Italy, Slovakia
G: Brazil, Ivory Coast
H: Spain, Chile

2nd Round (Line-up, winners)
1. Mexico vs Nigeria, Nigeria
2. England vs Serbia, England
3. Holland vs Slovakia, Holland
4. Brazil vs Chile, Brazil
5. Argentina vs France, Argentina (This is a tricky as both sides are very good on paper and both tend to underachieve recently)
6. Germany vs USA, Germany
7.Italy vs Cameroon, Cameroon (sorry Sam)
8.Spain vs Ivory Coast, Spain

Quarter Finals
1. Nigeria vs England, England
2. Holland vs Brazil, Holland
3. Argentina vs Germany, Germany
4. Cameroon vs Spain, Spain

Semis
1. England vs Holland, Holland
2. Germany vs Spain, Spain

Final
Holland vs Spain

The logic here says Spain, however when rank #1 plays rank #3 it's always going to be close, especially with both teams playing for their first World Cup trophy. Nonetheless I'm going with Spain.

I should have something better to do since I'm at work, but nonetheless, here's my prediction:

Group Stage(1st,2nd)
A: France, South Africa
B: Argentina, Nigeria
C: England, USA
D: Germany, Australia
E: Netherlands, Cameroon
F: Italy, Slovakia
G: Brazil, Portugal
H: Spain, Switzerland

2nd Round (Line-up, winners)
1. France vs Nigeria, France
2. England vs Australia, England
3. Netherlands vs Slovakia, Netherlands
4. Brazil vs Switzerland, Brazil
5. Argentina vs South Africa, Argentina
6. Germany vs USA, Germany
7.Italy vs Cameroon, Cameroon (unless Cassano will be there… in that case, anything's possible)
8.Spain vs Portugal, Spain

Quarter Finals
1. France vs England, England
2. Netherlands vs Brazil, Brazil
3. Argentina vs Germany, Germany
4. Cameroon vs Spain, Spain

Semis
1. England vs Brazil, Brazil
2. Germany vs Spain, Spain

Final
Brazil vs Spain, Spain if they don't crap in their pants.

Looking back at it, I really don't see Brazil getting to the final this year, but I don't see any of their probable opponents beating them either, with the possible exception of Netherlands. That would be a tight quarterfinal.
England is strong but not so much to get to the final. Germany is lame as usual on the paper, but every time they manage to get further than one would expect. Argentina won't go too far with Maradona as a trainer.Italy has got the slowest defence ever, which could easily kill it against an African team. France will not go too far nut is always a tricky opponent. Brazil is quite solid but none of its stars seems to be doing great this year. Spain has been amazing lately and so the Netherlands, but will they be strong enough to mentally survive the whole cup? Spain is stronger on this side.

You should accumulators on those predictions at the bookies. Put a quid on, and if it all came true, you'd be bloody rich!
