MemberAnyone tried out [link=http://www.google.com/chrome?hl=en-GB]Chrome[/link] yet?
I downloaded it when I got my new laptop the other day and I'm actually quite fond of it. The layout is very nice and functional, and I like the idea of each tab running separately meaning any freezing will be confined to each tab instead of forcing you to close the entire browser(although I'm yet to merit from this).
The handling of downloads is quite nice too, and you can open a new tab with a list of all your downloads via chrome along with their status and location.
The only problem I have so far is that for some reason I'm unable to scroll up pages via my touchpad, but I can scroll down and I can simply use the bar at the side of the page…
There are other features but I can't be arsed to list them and to be honest, there isn't really much noteable difference between them and what's already available.Anyone else used it?

That problem alone is keeping me from switching over. I am reliant on touchpad scrolling. Other than that it was fun to play with. Def. runs a bit quicker than Firefox, and i like the favorite pages tool.

MemberI don't have firefox on my laptop to check it against, but I do have IE and I can definitely say that Chrome runs faster.

Memberyeah, it won't let me scroll up with the wheel on my mouse either. Also, I probably won't give it a full shot until it gets external apps. like firefox.

MemberStumbled across this whilst searching for the recent purchases thread (I think I've gone too far…) and I thought I may as well give my thoughts a few months into using it…
Now that I have a proper mouse the scrolling up problem has vanished, which makes me happy 🙂 but the whole "each tab is its own process" thing doesn't appear to be working at all… I've had a few occasions now where Chrome has crashed with multiple tabs open and on none of these occasions has the crashing been confined to the tab I was using at the time. It does let me restore the tabs I had opened upon restarting Chrome, however if this is what you want with your browser you may as well stick with Firefox (can IE do this yet?). Add to this the fact that hotmail isn't fully compatible with it (I have no trouble accessing my account and viewing my mail, but for some reason the text box for writing mail is unresponsive so I have to use IE to send emails – consequently hotmail is now my IE homepage seeing as it's all I use it for) and I have to conclude that if you don't have Chrome already, it's not really worth doing so, at least until the guys at Google patch it up a bit.
I've often experienced various random things not working in IE, so Chrome easily beats Microsoft's browser for general usability (plus I'm convinced that Chrome does seem to run faster on the same computer), but the only thing keeping me using Chrome as my browser is the fact that I'm simply too lazy to install Firefox and then sort out all the add-ons and configurations that I had on the desktop back at home – it's kind of ironic that the thing that makes Firefox stand out above the competition is the same thing that holds it back (at least for lazy guys like me).So in conclusion:
1. Firefox (if you can be bothered)
2. Chrome
3. IEMac users can come to their own conclusions about where Safari fits into all this, and I'm not gonna bother with Opera since most of you won't really care about all this and as previously established I'm too lazy anyway…

MemberWrong. I recently discovered that Chrome's been improved quite a bit and I just hadn't noticed that they'd released any updates, so for those who are interested:
Chrome now has extensions (read: add-ons) a la Firefox, so it's just as user configurable as the more popular browser. I've spent the past hour or so clicking around the extensions list and by far the best one is an extension that lets you open the page you're on in a new tab as an internet explorer tab. Genius. This completely negates the one major flaw that I saw in this browser as now I can run the few webpages that didn't work in Chrome before without opening an IE window.
I am now convinced that this is the best browser out there. -

Frag MagnetMemberI've been running it ever since they released the MacOS version.
Other than Netflix (actual movies, not the rest of the site, mind you) it does everything I want.
