What happened to the ex members?

<p>So, I’ve been trying to figure out what the ex-members from Reel Big Fish are doing now… Wikipedia isn’t much help and neither is a simple google search.&nbsp;<div><br /></div><div>What exactly are Tavis, Grant, Andrew, Matt… Where are they working? Are they still in music or are they doing something completely different?</div><div><br /></div><div>Any insight would be helpful! Thanks!</div>

Tavis I believe went to college and got a degree in some engineering

Matt-Last I saw was he was working as a artist and graphic artist for video games

Grant does camera work, I think. Andrew settled down and had a family. I thought it was Rob Quimby that got the degree in engineering, though I might be confused.

Well Quimby and Werts both got degrees. For some reason I Tavis  went to UC Berkley or something…

That Tavis website is funny. I enjoyed reading the interview, because:

a) I saw RBF in Minneapolis the night before that. 

b) I ending up going to school in Fargo and had seen lots of bands at Playmakers

c) This was like a week before Grant was kicked out of the band

That’s even more awkwardly funny than the GeoCities site the “good, sexy, funky, chicken fingers” Scott interview was hosted on. That front page diatribe about beer. Oh my god this website in itself is a rare gem. Reading about Adam was interesting…I remember Aaron talking, before they got Matt, about the times he tried to get a sax player back in the band. Imagine a third major label album with Scott, Dan, Tavis, and Adam on horns. Also interesting to hear that “Somebody Hates Me” would have been the second single off WDTRSH? I know there was no second video, but I remember seeing a “The Kids Don’t Like It” vinyl cover in the “A Best of Us” booklet.

The internet is full of stories as to why your original trumpet player, Tavis Werts, is no longer a member of Reel Big Fish, as well as rumours of a personal vendetta between the two of you. Can you please, once and for all, explain to us the situation?

Tavis was just one of those know-it-all type people, and the kind that would always try to make you feel stupid for not knowing something. If he knew you something that you didn’t know, he would always rub it in your face. Plus, he just turned out to be a real asshole, and after living with him on a tour bus and in hotel rooms for nearly six years, we had all had about enough of his attitude. One night he was drunk, he thought I threw something at him, which I certainly did not, and in retaliation, he threw a Gatorade bottle at my nose, and then lunged at me. So, I punched him in the face, he quit, and I fired him at about the same time. Plus, he was a pretty awful trumpet player.
